 General Motors Corp.’s has come up with a new hybrid car with plug-in, rechargeable electric-powered Chevrolet Volt. The difference between the other hybrid cars, like Toyota’s Prius or Ford’s Explorer,is that they use a mix of battery power and a conventional gasoline engine to move the wheels of the vehicle, while the Volt runs only on electricity. The Volt has come a long way from the highly noisy electric cars which used to be the norm previously. It has a 40 mile range on batteries and a small gasoline engine that generated electricity which helps in powering the car and recharging the batteries when they are depleted. It has a 640-mile range. After delivering music and videos on their handset, Apple have started to deliver phones too. They call it iphone to rhyme with ipod. iPhone combines a phone, an internet tablet and an iPod. It has a 8.9cm liquid crystal display and is based on EDGE standard.It has an intelligent touch screen interface and allows for multi-fingered gestures. It will not have a removable battery and expandable battery.The battery will last for five hours when making calls , viewing videos or browsing the web. It can last pupto 16 hours when playing music. It will be exclusively available on Cingular’s network and a 4GB version costs US$499 and an 8GB version will cost US$599. It has a large screen and no keypad. The new iPhone is expected to be a big hit among the american consumers.
