India now has two trillionaires (in rupee terms) - Mukesh Ambani and his younger brother Anil Ambani. They are the Sons of Dhirubhai ambani who founded the Reliance group. Dhirubhai Ambani started his career as a dispatch clerk in Besse and Co and rose up the ranks. Later he started his own company which exported spices and imported polyester yarn. In 1966 he started a textile mill in Naroda and used polyester fiber yarn with the brand name Vimal. I still remember the “Only Vimal” advertisements the used to shown in TV every now and then. Dhirubhai ventured into petrochemicals, telecommunications, information technology, energy, power, retail, textiles, infrastructure services, capital markets, and logistics.
Like every business house Dhirubhai ambani has got the support of the government where policies where made in their favor. He was also said to be a king maker in the government. Dhirubhai’s biggest competitor during that time was Nusli Wadia of Bombay dyeing. Nusli Wadia is a Christian Parsi who happens to be the grandson of Pakistan’s founder Muhammad ali jinnah. When Nusli Wadia also got a license to build a Dimethyl terephthalate (DMT) plant the fight between him and Ambani turned ugly.
Ramnath Goenka the newspaper baron of India who founded the Indian express fought a long battle with Dhirubhai Ambani. In his paper the Indian express he published a series of articles against reliance industries citing unfair and unethical practices. It stopped only after Dhirubhai Ambani suffered stroke in February 1986. Both his sons Mukesh and Anil Ambani started managing Reliance from then on. Goenka now pointed his gun against the government and accused it of not doing enough. Goenka’s journalist’s Gurumurthy and Mulgoakar ghost wrote a letter to the president and published it in the newspaper as a scoop. The president at that time zail singh had made some changes to the letter before sending it to Rajiv Gandhi the then prime minister. The fight shifted to the government and Goenka. The Government raided the Indian express guest house and recovered the original draft and charged many cases against Indian express.
Dhirubhai Ambani suffered a major brain stroke on june 24th 2002and fell into a coma. He died on july 6th 2002. Many admire and appreciate Dhirubhai’s rags to riches story. His wife is Kokilaben Ambani. He has tow sons Mukesh Ambani and Anil Ambani, and two daughters, Nina Kothari and Deepti Salgaonkar. Two years after his death a feud erupted between the two brothers on the ownership of the companies. Kokilaben the matriarch of the family, KK Kamath a close friend of the Ambani’s , the managing director of the icici bank and the two sisters intervened and a settlement was reached.

The reliance was split between Mukesh and Anil with Mukesh getting reliance industries and ipcl, while Anil Ambani got Reliance Infocomm, Reliance Energy and Reliance Capital. Mukesh Ambani’s Group is called as the Reliance Industries Limited while Anil’s entity has been named Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (ADAG). Mukesh Ambani’s personal stake in reliance is 48 %.
Anil Ambani has personal wealth is estimated to be around Rs 1, 00,000 crore in terms share prices. Mukesh Ambani’s is above of Rs 1, 15,000 crore, which is his share holding in various group companies.

According to Forbes list of world’s billionaires in 2007 Mukesh Ambani is ranked 14th and Anil Ambani is ranked 18th.

Paris Hilton is always in news for getting out of jail and for going back to jail. Paris Hilton was sentenced to 45 days in jail for violating probation for drink driving.

The tabloids in America are offering up to $500,000 (£250,000) for the first pictures of Paris Hilton in jail. She is currently in the twin towers facility in down town. Hilton does not have a cellmate till now. Her cell is 12-foot-by-8-foot and she is not allowed cell phones or Blackberries, even for visitors. She has eaten her first meal since she has been to jail and that was some cereals for breakfast. When Hilton was ordered back to jail she cried and screamed to her mother and was led out by the officers. Now she has come to terms with her jail sentence and has ordered her attorney not to appeal her sentence. She said that it is learning experience for her. She was earlier released from jail by the sheriff citing that her psychological condition has worsened and the condition was later confirmed to be ADD. She is still undergoing medical and psychiatric evaluations .There are also reports that she is on the verge of nervous break down. He mother after visiting her has told reporters that it’s tough in there. It’s cold. Paris hadn’t much sleep. She also told her that she is adjusting slowly.

Michael Donkins a spokesperson for the Endeavor Talent Agency has said that they have dropped Paris Hilton as a client. Inside sources also revealed that there was a lot of tension between her and her agents for a while and that she was a difficult client.

Malaysia Prime Minister, Dato’ Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi will to be marrying Ms Jean danker on Saturday, 9 June 2007 (23 Jamadilawwal 1428 Hijrah). Ms Jean Danker was the ex-wife of the Badawi’s late wife Endon mahmud’s bother Osman mahmud. i.e she is Endon Mahmud’s sister in law. She is currently known as Jeanne Abdullah. The marriage ceremony will be a private function and will be held at Seri Perdana (the official residence of the premier). Jeanne Abdullah was born in Kuala Lumpur on 29 July 1953 and is the eldest among four children. She has studied at Assunta Secondary School and was serving as the manager of the official residence of the premier.

 She has two children Nadiah and Nadene from her previous marriage.

Latest news report that  NBC has asked Mr. trump and Mark Burnet “The Apprentice” executive producer for an extension of up to a week that is June 8^th  to  decide on wither NBC wants a seventh season of the “The Apprentice”. The problem started when NBC announced the prime-time programming schedule for the fall and shunned “The Apprentice”. Trump also stated that he was moving on from the show while mark burnet boasted that the show will continue even if it is on some other  network. Trump also claimed that two other networks were interested in the show. According to the contract if NBC decides to continue with the seventh “The Apprentice” show Trump would not be able to quit. Later it was announced that NBC’s Kevin Reilly would be leaving the company and the reality TV producer Ben Silverman named co-chairman for NBC Entertainment and NBC Universal Television Studio. The Apprentice’s sixth installment averaged 7.49 million total viewers, a figure that ranks it 101st in the 2006-2007 prime time broadcast television season’s season-to-date overall viewers

An elephant is robbing the motorists In the Indian state of Orissa. The motorists are complaining that the elephant is stopping them and wouldn’t allow the vehicles to pass unless they give food. It would force the motorist to roll down the windows and get out of the car. The elephant would then insert the trunk into the vehicle and checks for any food. It usually eats vegetables and bananas and then allows the motorists to proceed. If the motorist does not wind down the window the elephant will stand in front of the car until the driver concedes. Forest officials are of the opinion that the elephant might have started extortion because the elephant is old and so cannot find the food by ordinary means. It has not harmed anybody till now. The elephant population has fallen recently due to loss of habitat.

Apple iphone will be available by late June in United States as scheduled and it has been approved by Federal Communications Commission. According to Apple’s request the FCC not to release photos of the phone or the phone’s user manual for 45 days after certification. Apple has also asked that, the diagrams and operational descriptions remain private indefinitely.

AT&T wireless, will sell the phone the 4-gigabyte phone for $499 and an 8-gigabyte model for $599.  The phone will be able to play music, take photos and have internet capability. The camera is 2 megapixel one and have a visual voice mail system. It has a tough screen display as well.

Apple has patented a mouse without buttons. Patent Application number 20070080945 details a mouse having a button-less pan and scroll switch. It has touch sensitive sides, uses touch sensors and resembles the mighty mouse. It uses blue tooth technology. The mouse would sense different hand positions and act in the way according to how it is being held. It doesn’t have a scrolling bar or wheel.

Scotland Yard has come up with a bomb shell that bob woolmer who died on march 18 th during the world cup cricket match at Jamaica had died of heart failure. It is in direct contradiction to the earlier report by Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) and local pathologist, Dr. Ere Sheshiah, who had conducted a post-mortem on Woolmers’s bodywho concluded that he died of manual strangulation.
